How much do you charge?
Every song is different, so we price per project rather than off a menu. What is consistent is what you get: full production with real musicians, mixed and mastered, and help getting the song released. This is not a beat lease and it is not a favour, it is a producer's time and real players, and it is priced accordingly. You will get a straight number on the call, once we know what the song needs.
What do I pay and when?
There is an upfront cost for the first song. After that most people settle into a rhythm of a new song every one to three months, which spreads the cost over time instead of asking for it all at once. The schedule is flexible and we will fit it around your life. The scope of the work is less flexible, because cutting corners on production is how you end up with a song you quietly never release.
How long does a song take?
Songs don't happen instantly, but it's also not 1980 anymore, and the typical song takes 12–16 hours of production/mixing time on our end. Then there's the time you'll spend recording your vocals and any other instruments you want to play. We spread song releases out over several months so each one has time to find its audience organically, while we work on the next song.
I'm worried my recordings and equipment won't be good enough.
The best microphone is the one with a great singer in front of it. And if your recordings need work, we're happy to advise you through that. The technical side can seem overwhelming when you are on your own with it. What's more, along the way we'll send you ideas for extra bits to record, like harmonies, to switch things up.
Can you guarantee I'll get plays?
Any site that guarantees you Spotify plays is probably selling you fake plays. Our goal is to guide you through pitching your song to the right playlists and blogs, so organic listeners hear it. We can also point you toward people we trust who run effective Meta ad campaigns for songs like yours, which helps train the Spotify algorithm to find more of the right listeners, so you grow a real fan base. So no, we don't guarantee you'll get plays. The one thing we can guarantee is that your music will sound great.
I've hired someone before and they didn't "get" me. What happens if we don't click?
Firstly, by using a system of song references before we start each song, we make sure we're on the same page in terms of direction. This process is tried and tested and produces great results that tick all the boxes.
Secondly, if you're not feeling the direction of the song, we're not precious and we know it's not personal. We can change things.
Finally, if you're really not happy with how things are going, we're flexible and will be happy to discuss the issues.
Will I make my money back from Spotify?
It's not impossible, but the rates that streaming pays make it challenging, and it'll take time. Spotify currently pays about $4 per 1,000 streams, so you'd need around 250k streams to make $1,000.
If it was easy, everyone would be doing it.
Can you re-produce songs made with AI?
Yes, that's a core part of what we do. AI is a great way to get the ideas flowing; real musicians and production turn it into something you'd actually release. Hear real before/after examples.
